There are as many as 60 medical colleges in Karnataka which altogether offer 9,345 total medical seats in Karnataka 2022. Of the 60 medical colleges in Karnataka, 19 are government medical colleges thus accounting for less than one-third of the total medical colleges. The rest, i.e. 41 medical colleges are private medical colleges. The total government medical seats in Karnataka 2022are 2900 and the rest, i.e. 6445 seats are available for admission to private medical colleges in Karnataka. Karnataka NEET-UG 2022Counseling Process:
The Karnataka Medical Counseling 2022is meant for 85 percent of the total government medical seats in Karnataka 2022and all the seats in private medical colleges in Karnataka. On the other hand, if a candidate is looking forward to apply for the 15% AIQ seats, he/she shall attend a separate counseling held by MCC which expands to Medical Counseling Committee. The counseling will be done in 2 rounds and a mop up round for filling up the vacant seats from previous 2 rounds. Those who qualified NEET are eligible to apply in both the counseling processes. The KEA NEET-UG 2022allotment list of selected candidates will be formed after the NEET counseling. The candidates in the Karnataka MBBS admission list will be selected on the basis of their rank and the category from which they’re applying. The selected candidates will then be required to report to the allotted Karnataka medical college with the required documents. In case any of the selected student(s) fails to report to the Karnataka medical college within the prescribed time, his/her seat will be forfeited. The counseling procedure will be supervised by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The Karnataka MBBS counseling 2022will be done on the basis of the score obtained by the participating candidate in the NEET UG exam. Moreover, the Karnataka NEET counseling will be held in an online mode and the participating candidates can attend the counseling at kea.kar.nic.in (Official Website of Karnataka Examination Authority).

To fulfill the eligibility criteria, the candidate must

To apply to the MBBS seats in Karnataka through state quota, the candidate must fulfill any of the following conditions.
- He/she must have studied for a minimum period of 7 years from a Karnataka institution
- He/she must have passed 11th and 12th standard from an educational institution in Karnataka and his/her parents must have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years
- He/she along with either of the parents have Kannada, Tulu or Kodava as mother tongue. In such case, they must undergo a language test to prove eligibility
- He/she must be the son/daughter of defense personnel who happen to have passed 11th and 12th standard from an educational institution in Karnataka
To participate in Karnataka MBBS counseling, the candidate will have to register himself first. The application form will be released on the Karnataka MBBS admission official website of Karnataka Examination Authority. The procedure will commence with the candidate registering himself through his E-mail ID and mobile number. The candidate will then receive application ID and password on the E-mail ID and mobile number provided during Karnataka MBBS registration 2022. Through this ID, the candidate is enabled to login to the Karnataka MBBS admission official website (kea.kar.nic.in) and proceed with the application process. Moreover, the candidate has to pay a certain amount that goes towards application form fees. This payment can be made either offline through E-Challan or online through debit cards, credit cards or net banking. The details of the amount to be paid are available under the ‘APPLICATION FEE’ section.
Afterward, the candidate must supply with information that incorporates the candidate’s personal details, academic details, NEET UG details, contact details, etc. Thereafter, the candidate is supposed to upload his passport sized photograph that is present on the NEET hall ticket, signature, and thumb impression. After filling in the essential information and fulfilling the prerequisites, the candidate has successfully registered themselves for the KEA NEET UG counseling 2022.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET (UG) 2022examination on Sunday, 17th July, 2022in pen & paper mode. NEET-2022Exam was delayed due to second wave of COVID-19.
