Overview

There are as many as 60 medical colleges in Karnataka which altogether offer 9,345 total medical seats in Karnataka 2021. Of the 60 medical colleges in Karnataka, 19 are government medical colleges thus accounting for less than one-third of the total medical colleges. The rest, i.e. 41 medical colleges are private medical colleges. The total government medical seats in Karnataka 2021 are 2900 and the rest, i.e. 6445 seats are available for admission to private medical colleges in Karnataka. With so many medical colleges in Karnataka, good prospect of postgraduate medical studies is evident. 

As a result, the students can pursue PG in 55 medical colleges of Karnataka which collectively offer 5,000+ seats to MD/MS/Diploma program! Of these, 20 are government medical colleges in Karnataka offering 1171 seats in PG courses and the rest are 35 private medical colleges of Karnataka with 3800+ seats. Karnataka NEET-UG 2021 Counseling Process:

The Karnataka Medical Counseling 2021 is meant for 85 percent of the total government medical seats in Karnataka 2021 and all the seats in private medical colleges in Karnataka. On the other hand, if a candidate is looking forward to apply for the 15% AIQ seats, he/she shall attend a separate counseling held by MCC which expands to Medical Counseling Committee. The counseling will be done in 2 rounds and a mop up round for filling up the vacant seats from previous 2 rounds. Those who qualified NEET are eligible to apply in both the counseling processes. Important Dates:

The KEA NEET-UG 2021 allotment list of selected candidates will be formed after the NEET counseling. The candidates in the Karnataka MBBS admission list will be selected on the basis of their rank and the category from which they’re applying. The selected candidates will then be required to report to the allotted Karnataka medical college with the required documents. In case any of the selected student(s) fails to report to the Karnataka medical college within the prescribed time, his/her seat will be forfeited. Once the dates for reporting to the college/ Fee deposits/Submitting documents are passed all such seats are made available for the next rounds. The counseling procedure will be supervised by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The Karnataka MBBS counseling 2021 will be done on the basis of the score obtained by the participating candidate in the NEET UG exam. Moreover, the Karnataka NEET counseling will be held in an online mode and the participating candidates can attend the counseling at kea.kar.nic.in (Official Website of Karnataka Examination Authority). 
The KEA, Karnataka, Prepares and publish the State Merit list of under each category. Students can assess their chance to get college of their choice based on previous year’s Cut offs of that college. ELIGIBILITY

To fulfill the eligibility criteria, the candidate must

  1. Be a citizen of India
  2. Have completed 17 years of age by the 31st December of the year he/she is applying for admission in
  3. Have passed 12th standard with a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in case he/she is from an unreserved category and 40% if he/she is from a reserved category
  4. Qualify the NEET UG Exam as well as clear the cutoff for Karnataka MBBS admission 2021.

To apply to the MBBS seats in Karnataka through state quota, the candidate must fulfill any of the following conditions.

  1. He/she must have studied for a minimum period of 7 years from a Karnataka institution
  2. He/she must have passed 11th and 12th standard from an educational institution in Karnataka and his/her parents must have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years
  3. He/she along with either of the parents have Kannada, Tulu or Kodava as mother tongue. In such case, they must undergo a language test to prove eligibility
  4. He/she must be the son/daughter of defense personnel who happen to have passed 11th and 12th standard from an educational institution in Karnataka

APPLICATION PROCESS

To participate in Karnataka MBBS counseling, the candidate will have to register himself first. The application form will be released on the Karnataka MBBS admission official website of Karnataka Examination Authority. The procedure will commence with the candidate registering himself through his E-mail ID and mobile number. The candidate will then receive application ID and password on the E-mail ID and mobile number provided during Karnataka MBBS registration 2021. Through this ID, the candidate is enabled to login to the Karnataka MBBS admission official website (kea.kar.nic.in) and proceed with the application process. Moreover, the candidate has to pay a certain amount that goes towards application form fees. This payment can be made either offline through E-Challan or online through debit cards, credit cards or net banking. The details of the amount to be paid are available under the ‘APPLICATION FEE’ section.

Afterward, the candidate must supply with information that incorporates the candidate’s personal details, academic details, NEET UG details, contact details, etc. Thereafter, the candidate is supposed to upload his passport sized photograph that is present on the NEET hall ticket, signature, and thumb impression. After filling in the essential information and fulfilling the prerequisites, the candidate has successfully registered themselves for the KEA NEET UG counseling 2021.

NEET-UG Exam dates 2022

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET (UG) 2021 examination on Sunday, 12th September, 2021 in pen & paper mode. NEET-2021 Exam was delayed due to second wave of COVID-19. CBSE announced 12th Board exams for 2022 in April and May  It is expected NTA may conduct NEET-UG 2022 Exams in the month of July’22. If it happens then NEET result will be decleared in the month of Aug. In such scenario NEET UG Counseling 2022 will take place in the month of Sept. The examination will serve as a uniform entrance examination for MBBS admission and othe stream like BDS/ BAMS/ BSMS/ BUMS/ BHMS and other undergraduate medical courses.
