About College
St. John's Medical College, Bengaluru is a private Catholic medical institution. It is a part of the St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences and is run by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) Society for Medical Education.
It is one of the top ten medical colleges in India.It was formed in 1963 to provide medical aid to the poor and needy classes and is a memorial of the XXXVIII International Eucharistic Congress and is named after St. John the Baptist, the patron of the Pope John XXIII, a staunch supporter of the initiate of the Catholic Church in India.
It has since evolved and is part of St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences, that includes the medical college, a hospital, a college of nursing and a research institute.
It offers undergraduate MBBS, postgraduate MD/MS and super-speciality and various diploma medical programs affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The lush-green campus is spread over 140 acres with a training hospital, modern academic blocks with auditoria, well-equipped laboratories, simulation labs, animal house, examination hall, discussion rooms, Wi-Fi enabled campus and residential accommodation for the students.
It has received a 5 star grading from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and a Review Committee of the University Grants Commission for its excellence in the field of medicine. The College has 07 Rhodes scholars, which is the maximum for any medical college in India.

Admission Process 2026, St. Johns Medical College Bengaluru
The admission process for the MBBS course is based on merit and is as follows:
- Candidates must appear and qualify in NEET-UG 2026 with a valid score.
- Candidates must register for KEA counselling.
- Candidates must fill choices and select St. John's Medical College, Bengaluru in preference.
