About College

Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences, Gadag (GIMS) is a renowned Government-run medical college in the Mallasamudra village of Gadag in Karnataka. It was renamed as K H Patil Institute of Medical Sciences on 17 March 2025.

It was established in 2014 by the Government of Karnataka to provide medical education and meet the healthcare needs of the population in the region.

The college is spread over 54 acres with an attached teaching hospital, modern infrastructure, dedicated research wing, residential accommodation for students and facilities. It also carries out various healthcare programs for the betterment of the community.

The college is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

It offers 150 MBBS seats per year as well as postgraduate medical programs.

Fee Structure 2026, GIMS Gadag

The fee structure for MBBS is as under:

1. Approx. Annual MBBS Tuition Fees: Rs.98,000
2. Hostel rent: Rs.2500 to Rs.3000 per month approx.
3. Mess charges: Rs.3000 per month
4. University fees: Approx. Rs.10,000 (registration fee, admission fee, sports fee, student welfare fund, helmet fee)
5. Miscellaneous: Rs.20,000 to Rs.21,000
6. Refundable Caution money deposit: Rs.1,950

Admission is based strictly on merit -NEET-UG 2026.

1. Qualify NEET-UG 2026 with a valid score
2. Register for KEA/ MCC counselling
3. Participate in choice filling and select GIMS, Gadag as preference
4. Seat allotment is based on NEET-UG 2026 score, rank, category and availability
5. Report to the college with documents for verification, fee payment and completion of admission formalities

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for MBBS the students must meet the following requirements:

1. Passed Class 12 (10+2) or its equivalent from a recognized education board, with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology(PCB) and English, and score aggregate 50% in PCB for general category and its equivalent in reserved categories.
2. Qualify NEET-UG 2026 conducted by NTA.
3. Be at least 17 years old as on 31 December 2026.
