Minority College- Jamia Hamdard Institute of Med Science Research (HIMSR)
Jamia Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences Research (HIMSR) is a recognized Muslim minority institute that holds the status of a Deemed Medical College. All MBBS seat allotments for HIMSR, Delhi, are conducted exclusively through MCC Counselling. The National Medical Commission (NMC) initially did not allow the institute to participate in the counselling process for the 2025–26 session. Consequently, its participation for the upcoming 2026–27 batch will be subject to court orders and final NMC clearance.
MBBS Service Bond Policy in Delhi Medical Colleges (DU IPO) – 2026
As per the latest Government of NCT Delhi Health Family Welfare Department circular issued in August 2025, a mandatory one-year service bond has been introduced for MBBS students admitted to Delhi Government medical colleges, including both Delhi University (DU) and GGSIPU-affiliated institutions. This rule applies to candidates admitted through All India Quota, State Quota, and Institutional quotas.
Under the policy, students must serve in Delhi Government healthcare facilities after completing MBBS and internship. If a candidate fails to fulfill the service obligation, a bond penalty of 15 lakh is payable. Students are required to sign an undertaking at admission and execute the final bond before internship completion. The policy aims to strengthen doctor availability in Delhi’s public healthcare system.
Seat Leaving Policy for MBBS Admission in Delhi – 2026
As per the GGSIPU and Delhi Government admission guidelines notified in August 2025, strict seat resignation rules apply to MBBS admissions in DU and IPU medical colleges. Candidates who withdraw after the final round of counselling or after joining the allotted college will face forfeiture of security deposits and admission fees.
Additionally, students who leave seats after the prescribed deadline may be barred from further counselling rounds in the same academic year. These rules apply to both MCC-counselled DU colleges and GGSIPU-counselled IPU colleges to prevent seat blocking during NEET counselling.
