NMC publishes no approved university list. Check your university in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and against NMC rules before you pay a deposit.

- FMGE is the current licensing exam and NExT has not replaced it. The 2024 national pass rate was 25.8% (79,000 sat, 20,382 passed).
- You should start MCQs preparations from 3rd year. Hungarian exams lean on oral and practical tests, while FMGE uses multiple-choice questions.
- Learn Hungarian early. Classes are compulsory in Years 1 and 2 and ward rotations in Years 3 to 6 need conversation skills.
The Hungarian degree gets you the MD title. The FMGE pass gets you the Indian license. Confirm the current internship rule with NMC before you graduate.

Health science programs in Hungary

The Stipendium Hungaricum is the main scholarship for Indian students. It waives full tuition and pays a monthly stipend, housing support and health insurance. India gets about 200 seats a year and winners come through UGC nomination.
