About College

Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences, (KoIMS) is one of the leading Government medical colleges in Karnataka. It is also known as Kodagu Medical College(KMC).

Located in Madikeri, Kodagu district, Karnataka, the college was established in 2016 by the Government of Karnataka to improve the medical education and healthcare facilities in the region.

It is attached to the Kodagu District Hospital, Madikeri, which is the teaching hospital, that gives a vast clinical exposure to the students. The college is spread over 22 acres, on a hilltop, and has a modern infrastructure, residential accommodation for the students and an experienced faculty.

The college has collaborated with the Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences, Madikeri Teaching Hospital to provide community healthcare services. The college is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru and is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The college offers 150 MBBS medical seats as well as postgraduate MD/MS medical programs.

Admission Process 2026, KOIMS Madikeri

Admission is based on merit through NEET-UG 2026.

  1. Qualify NEET-UG 2026 with valid score
  2. Participate in KEA counselling process (50% state seats ) and MCC counselling (50% AIQ seats)
  3. Seat allocation is based on rank, category and availability of seat
  4. Personally be present for verification of documents , as per KEA norms
  5. In choices, select KoIMS, as preferences
  6. Report to the college with all the documents for medical fitness and complete the admission process.

Carry all original documents with 7-8 photocopy sets and a pendrive with soft copies of the documents and photograph (un-merged file).

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidates must qualify NEET-UG 2026 with valid score.
  2. Candidates must have completed Class 12 (10+2) in Physics, Chemistry , Biology and English from a recognised education board with minimum aggregate (50% in PCB for general category and 40% for reserved categories).
  3. Candidates must be 17 years as on 31 December 2026.
  4. Candidates must be Indian nationals as specific seats are available for karnataka domiciled students.
