The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra under the guidance of DMER, Mumbai is responsible for conducting State counseling for allocation of 85% of MBBS Seats in Govt and 100% Private Medical College under State Quota. However, MCC is the governing body for filling rest 15 % seats through All India Quota seats in Govt Medical College and 100% Seats in Deemed University. Those who qualified NEET are eligible to apply in both the counseling processes.

Eligibility for Maharashtra NEET-UG 2026 Counselling
- Your age must be no less than 17 years.
- You must have qualified the NEET exam.
- Maharashtra MBBS Cut-off 2024: 10+2 with a score of at least 50% in PCB (for general category), 45% (for general PH) and 40% for ST/SC/OBC.
- Your core subjects for 10+2 have to be Biology, Chemistry, English, and Physics.

How to Register for Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2026
- The application is to be submitted online on the official website of DMER, Maharashtra and MCC will be providing the forms for MBBS admission in Maharashtra.
- Fill the application form with all the necessary details including your personal and academic ones.
- Once you successfully fill the form, you will now be given with a unique registration ID and password which will further be used to complete the application process.

Special Quota Seats
In Maharashtra's Medical Colleges , Few MBBS seats are reserved under various quotas , These Quota applicable to all vertical reservation category
1. Defence Quota:
5% of the total intake (capped at a maximum of 5 seats per college) is reserved for candidates under Defence categories DEF1, DEF2, and DEF3.
2. Hill Area Quota:
3% of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to notified Hill Area regions.
3. Maharashtra-Karnataka Border (MKB) Quota:
8 seats in each medical college are reserved under the MKB quota.
The candidate must have passed 10th or Class 12 from the Maharashtra–Karnataka border area and their mother tongue must be Marathi.
4. Physically Handicapped (PH) Quota:
5% of seats are reserved for Physically Disabled / PwD candidates as per Government norms.
