Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College & Research Institute (SABVMC&RI), is a Government medical college in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is located within the historic Victoria Hospital campus in Bengaluru. It was formed in 2022 and is carrying on the decades old heritage of the erstwhile Bowring & Lady Curzon Medical College (dating back to 1864).

Located in the heart of the city of Bengaluru, the college is known for its vast clinical experience across diverse disciplines as it has two associated teaching hospitals - Victoria Hospital and Bowring Hospital for the purpose. The college offers 200 MBBS seats per year and is steadily on the way to offer postgraduate programs as well.

The college is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) Bangalore and is approved by the National Medical Commission(NMC).

The focus of the college is on medical education is a combination of practical training, patient-centered learning and research.

Fee Structure 2026, SABVMCRI

Admission Process 2026, SABVMCRI

Admission is strictly through NEET-UG.

  • Qualify NEET-UG 2026 with the required percentile. 
  • Register for counseling via the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) portal(for 85% state quota seats) / MCC portal (for 15%All India Quota seats) . 
  • Upload the documents and complete biometric verification. 
  • Fill in college preferences, including SABVMC&RI. 
  • Take part in mock allotment and counselling rounds (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, extended and mop-up). 
  • Once the seat is allotted, the fees are to be paid online. 
  • Then report to the college, within the specified timeframe, for verification and confirmation of admission. 

If candidates are unable to report within the time limit, their allotted seat will be cancelled.
