About College

JSS Medical College was founded in 1984 and is a well-established medical college located on a beautiful 43 acres of land in the Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagara region of Karnataka. The college operates under the umbrella of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (Deemed-to-be University) and had previous affiliations with the University of Mysore and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences until becoming an autonomous institution as per Section 3 of UGC Act in 2008.

This institution is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), World Health Organisation (WHO), General Medical Council (GMC), Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC), has received an A+ rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), National Accreditation Board for Healthcare (NABH), was among the top-ranked Institutions in the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2021 (Ranked 24th for medical institutions), and about 200 new MBBS students are admitted each year, in addition, there are post graduate and super-specialty trainees being trained at this college.

All students are given significant clinical training due to the affiliation with JSS Hospital which has 1,800 beds; thus providing students ample opportunity to experience clinical training across a wide range of specialties in a variety of settings.

Admission Process 2026, JSS Medical College

  1. Qualify for NEET UG test in 2026.
  2. Register at the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for Denied University.
  3. Participate in all rounds of counselling (1st, 2nd and mop up rounds and stray vacancies) by selecting JSS as your preference.
