About College

Yadgiri Institute of Medical Sciences, Yadgiri, is a Government medical institution in Karnataka. It offers MBBS medical programs. It was founded in the year 2022 to provide healthcare facilities and medical education in the region of North Karnataka. It is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

It offers an undergraduate MBBS program with 150 seats per year. It is attached to the District Hospital Yadgiri,(more than 300 beds) that caters to the rural population of the region. Presently the college has basic facilities that are gradually being developed to match teaching standards.

Admission Process 2026 at Yadgiri Institute of Medical Sciences

The admission process for the MBBS course is as follows  

  • Candidates must appear and qualify in NEET-UG 2026 with a valid score 
  • Candidates must register for KEA counselling for state quota or MCC for All India quota  
  • Candidates must fill choices and select YIMS, Yadgiri in preference  
  • Candidates are allotted seats  as per NEET rank, score and reservation category 
  • After a seat is allotted, the candidates must report to the college, with original documents for verification and payment of fees. 

Other formalities include 

  • Candidates are to report to the Principal/Dean office on the date and time as mentioned in the selection letter issued by KEA/NEET AIQ by 10 a.m. Delay to report by the last date, may result in cancellation of admission.  
  • Candidates are to be accompanied with one parent/guardian for completion of formalities 
  • The admission process takes more than one day, hence outstation applicants should be aware of the same. 
  • The admission is provisional, subject to final authorization by the DME/RGUHS/MCC-DGHS. 
  • The original documents are sent to RGUHS, Bangalore,  for admission approval, thus candidates must keep three (3) photocopies of all original documents with themselves for use in future. 
  • Candidates must provide one file/folder with all original documents and a single compartmental button file folder for safe submission of documents. 

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission to MBBS program, candidates must fulfil the following:

  • Pass Class 12 ( 10+2 )with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English securing 50% aggregate score in PCB for general category and its equivalent in reserved categories.
  • Be at least 17 years old by 31 December 2026.
  • Must compulsorily qualify NEET-UG 2026 with required percentile.
  • Must be Indian nationals
  • Non-Karnataka (outstation) candidates can apply through complying with KEA counselling process.
