Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) is one of the most respected government medical colleges in Karnataka. It is located in the Fort area of Bengaluru.

The college was founded in 1955 and is managed by the Government of Karnataka. The college is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Since the time of its inception, BMCRI has built a great reputation regarding its academic strengths, vast clinical exposure and pocket-friendly education. The college has a big advantage with its multiple teaching hospitals, which give the students enough clinical experience with real patients. It offers 250 MBBS seats every year.

Initially, BMCRI, which was working in the historic Fort area of Bengaluru has now grown into a premier medical institution.   • Approx. Annual (First-year) tuition fees: Rs.75,000 (includes tuition and institutional charges).

Admission Process 2026, BMCRI

  • Candidates have to qualify NEET-UG 2026 with the required percentile.
  • Candidates have to register for counseling through: Karnataka Examinations Authority(KEA) (for State quota) and Medical Counselling Committee(MCC) (for All India Quota).
  • Candidates must participate in online choice filling and counselling rounds.
  • Candidates will receive seat allotment based on NEET-UG 2026 rank and category.
  • Candidates will report to BMCRI for document verification and fee payment.

For vacant seats, there may be multiple rounds (including mop-up) conducted.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible and apply for MBBS, candidates must fulfil the following :

  • Must be atleast 17 years or more on or before 31 December 2026.
  • Must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, getting at least 50% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC) in PCB.
  • Must Qualify NEET-UG 2026 (minimum percentile as prescribed).
  • Must hold valid nationality status (Indian / OCI / PIO / NRI, as applicable).

Karnataka domicile students will receive priority under the state quota.
