About College

The Chitradurga Medical College and Research Institute (CMCRI) was created by the Karnataka state government and opened its doors in 2023. It is associated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and the National Medical Commission (formerly known as the Medical Council of India). The college has an array of educational resources, including clinical exposure at a 500 bed teaching hospital, which allows students to gain hands-on experience from their first year of study. Of CMCRI's 150 available MBBS seats, many will be filled by students who are looking for low cost government supplied education in central Karnataka.

CMRCI is located at Guddadarangavvana, Chitradurga district, Karnataka, India, & CMRCI is run entirely as a government institution. There is a fully functioning district hospital associated with CMRCI and almost 1000+ patients walk through the emergency room at that hospital each day. Because of this flow of patients, CMRCI students begin accumulating the required hours of hands-on experience before they even enter their 2nd year of medical school.

The campus of CMRCI is spacious, serene and designed in a manner that supports both the pursuit of academic excellence and the development of each individual. The faculty will guide each student at CMRCI through an educational experience which will be oriented towards community health, research, and experiential learning.
