About College

Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR) is a new private, non-profit, medical college, recently established in Chikkaballapur (about 60 km from Bangalore) in Karnataka. It was founded in 2023 and operates under the Sri Sathya Sai University of Health Education and is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore. It is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The campus has a peaceful environment and with its experienced faculty, modern infrastructure, ethical and skill-oriented clinical exposure and student-centered learning approach, it has made a name for itself, despite being a new establishment.

There are 50 MBBS seats per year offered by the college each year. Its proximity to Bangalore makes it accessible and a conducive learning environment, focussing on academic growth.

Fee Structure 2026, SMSIMSR

The fee structure for the academic year (2026) is expected to be as follows (subject to official updates by KEA/RGUHS):

Approx. Annual MBBS Tuition Fees

• Rs.18 lakh to Rs.22 lakh per year for Management Quota
• Rs.25 lakh to Rs.30 lakh per year for NRI Quota

Total MBBS Course Cost : Rs.80 lakh to Rs.95 lakh (4.5 years + internship)

Hostel Fees (Inclusive of Mess)

• Rs.1.2 lakh to Rs.1.8 lakh per year
• Refundable caution deposit: Rs.50,000 to Rs.75,000

Additional Charges

• University registration: Rs.15,000 to Rs.25,000 (one-time)
• Library & lab fees: Rs.30,000 to Rs.40,000 per year
• Examination fees: Rs.20,000 per year
• Miscellaneous (uniforms, insurance, ID, etc.): Rs.10,000 to Rs.15,000 per year

The students are advised to confirm the final / updated fees during the counselling process.

Admission Process 2026, SMSIMSR

1. Qualify NEET UG 2026 (expected in May 2026).
2. Register for Karnataka NEET counselling conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
3. Complete online document verification.
4. Fill in college preferences and prioritize SMSIMSR.
5. Participate in seat allotment rounds (management quota primarily).
6. Download the allotment letter and pay the prescribed fees.
7. Report to the college within the deadline (usually 5-7 days).

Mop-up and stray vacancy rounds are conducted for any remaining seats.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must:

1. Be 17 years old on or before 31 December 2026
2. Qualify NEET UG 2026
3. Have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
4. Secure:
   • 50% in PCB (General category)
   • 40% (SC/ST/OBC - Karnataka)
   • 45% (PwD candidates)
5. Have studied English as a compulsory subject

Indian nationals, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals may apply (subject to regulatory approvals). Karnataka domicile is beneficial but not mandatory for management quota seats.
