About College

Government Medical College Washim (GMC Washim) is a public, state-run medical facility in Washim, Maharashtra. Established (to help improve the availability of healthcare throughout the Vidarbha area) in 2002; the primary purpose was to provide quality but affordable medical education. GMC Washim is also affiliated to MUHS and approved by the NMC (National Medical Commission). GMC Washim accepts 100 students who are enrolled in the MBBS degree program. The curriculum includes both classroom instruction and clinical learning.

GMC Washim is located on Chikhali Rd., Civil Lines, and has established itself as a student-centric institution with an emphasis on ethical medical practices.

Academic learning is closely integrated with hands-on training through its attached 450-bed government hospital, allowing students early exposure to real-world patient care.

Admission Process 2026 at GMC, Washim

In order to be admitted into GMC Washim, the admission criteria is only merit-based based on NEET UG scores. There are three main steps in the admission process.

  • First, NEET UG must be passed with the necessary percentile required by GMC Washim.
  • Next, you will need to register yourself on the CET Cell (CMER Online Portal) for Maharashtra state counselling.
  • Finally, after filling out your choices online, depending on your preferences, you should select GMC Washim as one of your choices.
