About College

Government Medical College (GMC) Bhandara is one of Maharashtra’s newest government medical institutions, created to strengthen healthcare education in the Vidarbha region. Founded in 2024 and inaugurated on October 9 by Narendra Modi, the college currently operates from the Women’s Hospital campus on Dhad Road, Bhandara.

The institute is affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and approved by the National Medical Commission. A permanent 25-acre campus is under development at Mouza Paladi.

GMC Bhandara has 100 MBBS seats available for students with access to both the District Hospital and Women's Hospital for their clinical training. The college's goal is to teach students through real-life experiences and ethical medical practices while providing them with community service exposure. Its instructors offer guidance in an encouraging manner and support the students from low socioeconomic backgrounds in becoming successful medical professionals.

Fee Structure 2026 at GMC, Bhandara

The GMC Bhandara tuition fee is based on the Maharashtra government's guidelines.

  • Annual tuition fees are around Rs 1.52 lakhs
  • Total tuition fees for the 4.5 years will be around Rs 7.6 lakhs. 
  • The annual hostel charges range from Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000. 
  • There will be a one-time refundable caution deposit of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. 
  • Library and exam fees will vary from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 per year. 
  • Development and lab fees will be around Rs 10,000 per year. 
  • Sports and other miscellaneous fees will be about Rs 5,000 per year.

Admission Process 2026 at GMC, Bhandara

  1. Qualify NEET UG 2026.
  2. Register on the Maharashtra counselling portal via State Common Entrance Test Cell Maharashtra.
  3. Upload documents and pay counselling fees.
  4. Fill choices (GMC Bhandara under State Quota or AIQ).
  5. Seat allocation takes place in three rounds (Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-up rounds).
  6. The candidate must download their allotment letter and pay for the required admission fee through online methods.
  7. Candidates must report to their assigned college to verify their necessary documents as well as complete a medical examination. 
  8. Candidates who have been notified of their allotted seat can proceed to allocate a seat and apply for any hostel desired.

Admissions to study MBBS will occur through a completely centralized and merit based system.
