About College

Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (SPMCW) in the temple city of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, is the second Government medical college exclusively for women in India. It was established in 2014 by the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) under the aegis of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). The reason for its formation was to provide a safe and dedicated environment for women intending to pursue medicine in Andhra Pradesh.

The college is a constituent college of the SVIMS and approved by the National Medical Commission. It offers MBBS (175 seats annually), postgraduate (MD/MS), superspeciality, nursing and allied health- medical programs.

The campus is spread over 40 acres and is a part of the larger SVIMS campus. It has an integrated teaching hospital - Sri Padmavathi State General Hospital, for practical training. There are air-conditioned lecture halls, advanced laboratories, medical museums, residential accommodation for the students and support services, which make it a favourable choice for women students.

Admission Process 2026, SVIMS Tirupati

MBBS admission is done entirely on the basis of merit - the score of the qualifying NEET-UG 2026 exam. Seat allocation - 85% for State quota and 15% for All India Quota

Steps of the Process:

  1. Qualify the entrance NEET-UG 2026 exam conducted by the NTA.
  2. Then register online for counselling through the portals - Dr.YSRUHS for 85% state quota and MCC for 15% All India Quota and pay the registration fees.
  3. Upload all the original documents for online verification.
  4. If your name appears in the merit list, take part in the choice filling and locking, select SPMCW, TIRUPATI, as preferred college.
  5. There are various counselling rounds for seat allotment, which is based on rank, category, choices and availability.
  6. When the seat is allocated, a provisional allotment letter has to be downloaded after paying the University fee.
  7. Report personally to the college with all original documents for physical document verification, medical fitness checkup and payment of tuition fees, within the given time limit.

These steps must be carried out within the given time limit, else the allotted seat may get cancelled.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for MBBS candidates must meet the following conditions:

  1. Only female candidates can apply.
  2. Minimum age: must have completed 17 years by 31 December 2026
  3. There is no upper age limit as of now.
  4. Qualification: Passed Class 12 (10+2) or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology(Botany and Zoology) (PCB) and English from a recognised education board with -

    • General: 50% in PCB
    • PH/PwD: 45% in PCB
    • OBC/SC/ST: 40% in PCB
  6. Must qualify NEET UG 2026 with the minimum required percentile -
    • General/EWS: 50th percentile
    • General-PH: 45th percentile
    • SC/ST/OBC: 40th percentile
  7. Nationality: Indian citizens, NRIs or OCIs.
  8. AP Domicile candidates are preferred for state quota seats.
  9. Must be medically fit.

  • Teaching hospital: Sri Padmavathi State General Hospital (650+ beds): a multispeciality hospital and tertiary care centre for practical training in various departments, specialties and patient caring abilities.
  • Academic blocks: Air-conditioned lecture halls (gallery style) with wi-fi and modern teaching aids, departmental laboratories, examination halls, clinical skill and simulation lab, seminar halls,demonstration rooms, departmental medical museums, animal house and auditorium.
  • Library and learning resources: Air-conditioned and automated library with KOHA library management software, with a large collection of medical textbooks, national and international journals and back dated volumes of reference material. There is access to digital resources like ERMED consortium, ONOS platform for 1700+ e-journals. It has dedicated reading rooms for the students and staff/faculty.
