Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada is a private medical institution dating back to as early as 1958. It was formed under the Kakinada Medical Education Society to improve the medical education, medical research and healthcare services in the region. It is also known as RMC Kakinada or RRMC.

The college is affiliated with the Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada and is approved by the National Medical Commission. It offers MBBS (250 seats annually), postgraduate (MD/MS), superspeciality, paramedical and diploma medical programs.

Of the total seats, 85% are reserved for Andhra Pradesh domiciled candidates and 15% are open for students from all over India.

The campus is spread over 22-25 acres and has an associated teaching hospital - Government General Hospital (GGH) Kakinada. There are modern classrooms, advanced laboratories, sports and recreation facilities, residential accommodation for th students and support services.

Admission Process 2026, Rangaraya Medical College

MBBS admission is based only on merit - the score of the qualifying NEET-UG 2026 exam.

Seat allocation: 85% for State quota and 15% for All India Quota

Steps of the Process:

  3. Qualification: Passed Class 12 (10+2) or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology (PCB) and English from a recognised education board with -

    • OBC/SC/ST: 40% in PCB
    • General - Pwd : 45% in PCB
  5. Must qualify NEET UG 2026 with the minimum required percentile -

    • UR/EWS-PwD: 45th percentile
    • OBC/SC/ST-PwD : 40th percentile
  6. Nationality : Indian citizens, NRIs, OCIs and PIOs. Foreign nationals can apply according to specific rules of the State Government and Government of India.
  7. AP Domicile candidates are preferred for state quota seats.
  8. Must be medically fit.
