In 2001, the Prathima Educational Society established the Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences in Karimnagar, Telangana. The campus is located in Nagunur village on more than 20 acres of land, providing an unruffled academic environment as well as easy accessibility to Hyderabad, the capital of the state of Telangana.

It is affiliated with the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) in Warangal and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The PIMS fee structure for the 2026 MBBS batch follows Telangana's private medical college fee regulations.

1. First year (Tuition and other upfront fees) are approx. Rs.13.5 lacs
2. Per annum 2nd-5th years approx. Rs.2.5 lacs - Rs.13 lacs
3. The total fee for a complete 5.5 yr MBBS (2026 batch) degree at PIMS is approx Rs.66 lacs - Rs.70 lacs
4. Additional costs include:
   • Hostel: total of approx. Rs.1.5 lacs - Rs.2 lacs per yr (including mess).
   • Refundable caution deposit : Rs.2 lacs
   • University Registration (at the start of course): Rs.6,000

Admission Process 2026, PIMS Karimnagar

The admission procedure to PIMS will be based entirely upon passing NEET examination:

1. You'll need to register and attend NEET UG with the National Testing Agency.
2. When the results are released (typically in early June), you will then need to register online for Telangana state counselling through KNRUHS.
3. When you register, you'll be able to select your list of colleges (including PIMS) where you wish to apply for an MBBS program.
4. Once counselling has been completed, seats will be allocated based on the number of seats available and the applicant's eligibility based on the category and rank in the exam.

If PIMS has remaining seats at that time or whenever, subsequent counselling rounds may be conducted as needed (including mop-up) for seats remaining unallocated through the three previous rounds of counselling.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria to study MBBS at PIMS:

1. An applicant must have attained the age of 17 years by 31 Dec, 2026
2. Must qualify the NEET UG by obtaining at least:
   • 50th percentile for General Category
   • 40th percentile for Reserved Category
3. Have a valid certificate of passing 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English
4. Have obtained at least 50% of aggregate percentage marks for general category (40% for Reserve category) in the PCB subjects of 10+2.
5. Indian citizens, Non-Resident Indian or Overseas Citizens of India will be allowed to apply for the course if they have met any of the above criteria.
6. Domicile residence of the state of Telangana would be required for students applying for State Quota seats.
