About College
Located in Hyderabad, Osmania Medical College (OMC) is one of the oldest government colleges of Medicine in India. Established in 1846 by Afzal ud Dowla, it was initially affiliated to Osmania University. Today, OMC is affiliated to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences.
Approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), OMC was ranked 48th in 2026 per the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework). Located next to Osmania General Hospital, OMC has an intake of 250 students to study MBBS, bringing together historic traditions and cutting-edge knowledge and technology into the classroom. Admission Process 2026, Osmania Medical College
All admission into the MBBS programme is through NEET-UG.
- Take the NEET-UG.
- Register for the counselling either via the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) or via the Telangana State Portal.
- Fill in the Option for Osmania Medical College (OMC).
- Seat allocation based on your rank, category, and choice of college (OMC).
- Download the seat allotment letter and report to OMC.

Eligibility Criteria

- Candidates must complete the 10+2 or equivalent qualification with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 50 percent (for non-reserved) and 40 percent (for reserved) in PCB.
- Candidates may be Indian Citizens, Non-Resident Indian (NRI), or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI).
- Candidates having Telangana as their domicile will be preferred for the state quota.
- Candidates who are Persons with Disability (PwD) will have their own reserved seats, with relaxed criteria.
