Maharajah Institute Of Medical Sciences (MIMS) is an extremely exciting place to study medicine located just outside Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh and was established to provide excellent health care and education to residents of Andhra Pradesh's North Coastal Districts.

MIMS consists of a 50-acre campus and is affiliated with the Dr. YSR University Of Health Sciences (formerly known as NTRUHS). The Madhraja Educational Trust, which is a part of the Mahatma Gandhi University System, established the college in 2002, as well as its hospital, to take advantage of the region’s abundant resources including a highly skilled workforce and abundance of natural resources.

NRCN MIMS has a 1,000-bed multi-specialty teaching hospital that allows students to receive a broad base of clinical experience and skill training across all disciplines of medicine.

Fee Structure 2026, MIMS Vizianagaram

MIMS's fee structure for the academic year 2026 will be determined by the State Government's Approval and Guidelines.

• Category A (State quota): Approx Rs.15000 per year
• Category B (Management Quota): Approx Rs.13,20,000 per year
• Category C (NRI quota): Approx Rs.39,60,000 per year
• Hostel Fees from Rs.70000- Rs.1,50,000 per year including MESS fees (depending upon the choice of AC/Non-AC rooms)

There may be additional fees for Admission, University Registration and Laboratory deposits for the first year.

The MIMS admission process for 2026 involves a merit-based assessment through the centralized counselling of Andhra Pradesh, with applicants required to take NEET-UG 2026. The counselling is managed by the Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences in Andhra Pradesh.

1. Seats will be allocated among three categories according to the NEET rank and reservation criteria:
   • State Quota (Category A)
   • Management (Category B)
   • NRI (Category C).
2. To confirm admission, candidates with allocated seats by the counselling body must complete documentation verification and medical fitness testing at the college.

1. Applicants must be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2026,
2. Must have completed high school (minimum or equivalent qualification with a Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and an English course minimum).
3. The minimum percentage of marks required must be
   • 50% or greater for General/EWS
   • 40% for SC/ST/O BC
   • 45% for PwD candidates.

In addition, the candidate must achieve the minimum qualifying percentile established by the NTA for the year 2026.

• Amenities Provided: All hostels have uninterrupted (24 hr) power supply, common areas for study, and indoor recreational games available; in addition, all hostels are secured well within the secured bounds of MIMS.
• Mess: All the messes in the Hostel provide clean and hygienic food to the students, being prepared and served by professionally trained caterers from their kitchens to provide high-quality nutritious meals.

• Sports: There are playfields for Cricket & Football. Other sporting activities on the grounds of MIMS include Basketball, Volleyball and Table Tennis.
