About College

Established in 2022 by the Government of Telangana with the mission of improving healthcare and medical training in the Peddapalli District and beyond, Government Medical College (GMC) Ramagundam, or Singareni Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), is a government college in Telangana that is affiliated to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, and has been recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC).

GMC Ramagundam has a maximum annual capacity of 150 MBBS students, and is located on a large, 21-acre campus in Malkapur Village, which has a teaching hospital that occupies an additional 14.2 acres.

GMC Ramagundam is the first and only Medical College in India to be established through a partnership with Singareni Collieries Company Ltd. (SCCL) to establish, develop and maintain a modern facility for providing high-quality tertiary care and clinical education to students.

Admission Process 2026, GMC Ramagundam

Admission will only occur for students meeting the minimum criteria established by MCC (national) and KNRUHS (state).

  1. Candidates applying to Ramagundam Government Medical College must take and qualify for the NEET (entrance examinations) in the year 2026.
  2. Counselling Authorities:
    • National (All India Quota): 15% of total seats will be selected through the MCC.
    • State (Telangana): 85% of total seats will be selected through KNR University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS).
  3. Admission Procedure:
    • Following the successful completion of the NEET exams, applicants must register online with the MCC counselling site (AIQ) and the KNRUHS (State Quota) counselling site before participating in counselling.
    • Upon completion of the proper formalities required by the official counselling authorities, candidates will be allocated a seat based on their NEET rank, category, and the number of available seats in the preferred college.
    • After a candidate has been assigned a seat at a college, the candidate must present himself in person on campus to verify documents and pay the requisite fee to secure their acceptance of an offer of admission.

  1. Age: Candidates must be at least 17 years of age as of December 31, 2026.
  2. Education: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English from a respective board.
  3. Minimum marks needed in PCB:
    • General: at least 50%
    • SC/ST/OBC: at least 40%
  4. NEET Qualifying Percentile: Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying percentile in NEET for the year 2026.
