About College

Government Medical College, (GMC) in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana, is a newly established Government Medical institution founded in 2024 to meet the healthcare requirements of the regional population. It is also known as GMC Quthbullapur or GMC Medchal-Malkajgiri.

The college is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and it is also affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal. The institute offers 50 MBBS seats per year and the degrees awarded are recognized throughout the country.

The campus is attached to a 500-bed Government General Hospital in Quthbullapur, that provides extensive clinical training to the students. Despite being new, it is quickly becoming popular among medical colleges in Telangana and getting known for its modern infrastructure, qualified faculty and focus on practical training. Admission Process 2026, GMC Quthbullapur

Admission to the MBBS program follows the standard NEET-based process:

1. Qualify NEET UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and get a valid score/ required percentile (50th for general category, lower for reserved categories).
2. Participate in Counselling: Register online for Telangana state counselling managed by KNRUHS.
   • Seat Allocation is based on rank, preferences and availability -
   • 15% seats filled through All India Quota (AIQ) via MCC
   • 85% seats allotted through Telangana State Quota
3. Choice Filling & Rounds: Multiple counselling rounds (including mop-up rounds) are conducted and in choice filling, select GMC Medchal-Malkajgiri as preferred college.
4. Final Admission: On allocation of the seat, download the allotment letter, pay the fees, and report to the college to verify documents, medical check-up and complete the admission.

1. Minimum age: 17 years by 31 December 2026
2. Educational qualification: 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized education board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English and secure minimum aggregate marks :
   • General: 50% in PCB
   • SC/ST/OBC: 40%
   • General-PwD: 45%
3. Must qualify NEET-UG 2026
4. Eligible candidates include Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs and PIOs
5. Telangana domicile is required for state quota seats
6. Must meet NMC and KNRUHS medical fitness standards
