About Us

Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Government Medical College & Hospital, Satara, is a government-run medical college established in 2021 by the Government of Maharashtra to expand access to quality healthcare and medical education in the region. The college is affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and its MBBS program is recognised and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) with an annual intake of 100 MBBS seats.

The institution admits its MBBS students through NEET-UG counselling and has an affiliation with the District Civil Hospital, Satara, as its primary teaching hospital. The college was named Chatrapati Maharaj Government Medical College and Hospital, Satara, in honor of a great figure from history, aligning with the tradition of Maharashtra, in the year 2023.

The college has introduced postgraduate training opportunities in specialised clinical disciplines, in addition to the undergraduate medical program, including DNB (Diplomate of National Board) programs in Anaesthesia and Pediatrics from the academic year 2024-25, further strengthening its role in developing skilled healthcare professionals.
