About College

Established as one of India's oldest and best government medical colleges, The Gandhi Medical College Secunderabad has an extensive history dating back to the 1800s when it was first established as a military hospital and became a fully functional teaching College in 1958.

Located close to Musheerabad in Secunderabad, the College is spread over an area of 16 acres and is affiliated to the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences. The College has the approval of the National Medical Commission and provides low-cost, high-quality medical education.

The College has 250 MBBS seats, as well as over 30 PG seats in various specializations like Cardiology and Neurology, and is connected to a large, well-established hospital with over 1800 inpatient beds, The Gandhi Hospital Secunderabad, which provides students with many opportunities for clinical experience. Admission Process 2026, Gandhi Medical College

NEET UG exam is the only way to get admission into MBBS course (usually held in May)

  1. If you qualify in NEET, you will have to register with KNRUHS (for Telangana State Counseling) shortly after results are released.
  2. Register for Telangana State Counselling after results and fill in your details
  3. Put in your choices of Colleges & include GMC.
  4. GMC seat allotment will be made according to NEET rank, category & choice.
  5. Download your allotment order and pay your fees.
  6. Report to the college by the designated date to have your documents verified.
  7. There will be multiple rounds of counselling: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up and Stray Vacancy based on the number of seats available after each round.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Minimum age for admission to an MBBS program is 17 years by December 31, 2026.
  2. Must have completed HSC or equivalent education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
  3. Minimum required marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
    • General: 50%,
    • SC/ST/OBC: 40%,
    • PwD: 45%.
  4. A candidate must qualify in the NEET Exam with the minimum required percentile respective to their category. (cutoffs vary each year).
