Dr. Somervell Memorial CSI Medical College and Hospital, (Dr.SMCSIH & MC) is a premier private medical institution in the locality of Karakonam in the district of Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. It was established in 2002 by the South Kerala Medical Mission, a charitable society. It is managed by the South Kerala Diocese (SKD) of the Church of South India (CSI).

It is a Christian Minority medical institution and also known as Karakonam Medical College . It is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and is recognized by the National Medical Commission. It offers MBBS, postgraduate and miulti-speiciality medical programs. It admits 150 MBBS students every year.There are 50% of the total seats reserved for Protestant Minority community and is linked to the South India United Church (SIUC) Protestant sect.

The campus is 52 acres and has a teaching hospital, modern lecture halls, residential accommodation for students and support services.

Fee Structure 2026, Dr. SMCSI MCH

The MBBS fees structure depends on the seat quotas.

1. Management / Minority Quota
2. Approximate Annual MBBS Tuition Fee : Rs.8,56,840 per year
   • Special fee : Rs.61,200 per year
   • Hostel fee : Rs.38,000 per year
   • Mess charges : Rs.40,000 to Rs.48,000 per year
   • Refundable caution deposit : Rs.10,000
   • One time Association/PTA fee : Rs.9,800
   • Admission fee : Rs.1,000
3. Total charges for 1st year : Rs.9.75 lakhs

The tuition fee for the NRI quota is slightly higher - Rs.21,65,720 to Rs.22,74,006 per year and all other charges as mentioned above are the same for the NRI quota seats.

The fees are regulated by the Admission and Fee regulatory Committee and subject to change. The final fees can be confirmed from the college office or during counselling.

Admission Process 2026, Dr. SMCSI MCH

Admission to MBBS is based totally on merit - NEET-UG 2026 exam.

1. Clear NEET-UG 2026 with qualifying marks/score.
2. Register for online counselling via Commissioner for Entrance Examination (CEE) - KEAM portal and upload all the required documents.
3. Select Dr.Somervell memorial CSI Hospital and Medical College Thiruvananthapuram in choice filling and locking.

2. Must qualify NEET-UG 2026 with minimum required score/cutoff
3. Must be at least 17 years old as on 31 December 2026
4. Applicants can be Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs and PIOs.
5. Kerala Domicile holders are preferred for state quota seats.
6. Must be medically fit.
