About College
Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College & Hospital (SCGMC) is one of the foremost government medical colleges in Maharashtra. It was inaugurated in 1988 and was named in memory of Shankarrao Chavan, Maharashtra’s former Chief Minister. The college is located in Vishnupuri, Nanded, and has a large campus of academic buildings, a well-equipped library, laboratories, lecture halls, and a large attached hospital.
With a large number of patients coming from Nanded and its surrounding districts as well as the border regions of Telangana and Karnataka, SCGMC provides students with useful clinical experience across all major medical specialties.
