About College

Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Research Institute (previously known as Bowring & Lady Curzon Medical College) is an established government medical college located in Bengaluru, Karnataka; it opened its doors in 2019 on the historic Bowring & Lady Curzon Hospital campus which was founded over 150 years ago.

The college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college has a large teaching hospital that has 686+ patient beds, making SABVMC&RI a popular choice for MBBS candidates who want to gain excellent clinical exposure before becoming doctors while keeping their costs low.

The SABVMC&RI is located in Shivajinagar on Lady Curzon Road and was established to improve government medical education in Karnataka. Although the college officially opened in 2019, it has inherited more than 100 year’s worth of history and experience in health care from the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospitals.

The college campus covers almost 18 acres and consists of modern academic buildings, laboratories and student amenities. Admission process, Bowring & Lady Curzon Medical College

NEET UG results will determine your admission.

• Candidates who qualify for the NEET exam must register using the Karnataka Examinations Authority for their Karnataka seats.
• All India Quota candidates will apply for their seat through the Medical Counselling Committee.

Admissions will be made from the multiple rounds of counselling to all NEET qualified candidates by using their NEET Rank, Category and seat availability.

Each candidate will be required to report to their assigned college for verification of their documentation and payment of fees once their seat has been assigned to be considered an admitted student.

You must be a citizen of India, an NRI, OCI, or a PIO and most seats available are considered for Karnataka State Quota.
