What Comes Next - OMR Sheet and Challenge Window

This is where most students are right now. You want to raise an objection but the window is not open yet. Here is exactly what will happen and when.

NEET 2026 OMR Sheet

  • NTA will first upload your scanned OMR response sheet
  • The challenge window opens only after OMR sheets are live
  • Exact dates are not announced yet - keep checking neet.nta.nic.in

NTA has officially stated: the OMR sheets come first, then the objection window. Do not wait for the last minute once dates are announced.

How to Challenge the NEET UG 2026 Answer Key

Once the window opens, follow these steps:

  1. Login at neet.nta.nic.in with your Application Number and Password
  2. Select the question you want to challenge
  3. Upload supporting evidence as a single PDF - NCERT textbook pages or recognised reference book pages only
  4. Pay Rs 200 per question challenged
  5. Save your confirmation receipt
Rule Detail
Fee per question Rs.200
Fee refundable? No - even if your challenge is rejected
Evidence required Yes - NCERT or reference book pages
Challenge window duration Approx. 2 days (dates to be notified)

One important point - do not challenge without solid evidence. Objections without valid proof are rejected. The fee is not returned.

What Happens After the Challenge Window

Once the window has closed, NTA takes over. Here is how it works:

  • A panel of subject experts reviews every objection submitted
  • If a challenge is accepted, the answer key is corrected for all candidates - not just the one who raised it
  • The NEET UG 2026 final answer key is then published on neet.nta.nic.in
  • Results are prepared using the final answer key only

Your result will include your All India Rank (AIR), category rank, percentile score, subject-wise marks, and qualifying status.
