What Happens Next: NEET Counselling 2026
After you have your scorecard the next step is counselling and it is beneficial to know who does what.
- The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) runs counselling for the All-India Quota seats in MBBS and BDS.
- Your home state's counselling body handles state quota seats.
- NTA's job ends at the result and rank. It plays no role in merit lists, category lists, domicile checks, or seat allotment. Those decisions rest with the admitting authorities and state bodies.
