Nanjing Medical University (NMU) was co-founded in 1934 by the Ministry of Education, the National Health & Family Planning Commission and Jiangsu Provincial Government. Out of sheer merit, NMU has been awarded the longest certification cycle of 8 years from the Ministry of Education. In the “Academic Ranking of the World Universities”, NMU is among the top 500 for the last 5 years. There are as many as 24 hospitals that are affiliated to NMU and more than 50 teaching hospitals, including 1 in Indonesia. The Faculty at NMU is also remarkable with 212 Professors & 303 Associate Professors. NMU also has a Research wing worth mentioning and there are approximately 1500 International students from various countries including India.NMU has 2 main campuses – Wutai & Jiangning. International students’ apartments exist in both of these. Wutai is the center for Clinical teaching and research. The campus scenery at NMU is made beautiful with the sprawling gardens with sitting arrangements, sculptures and numerous big trees. The architecture presents a unique blend of period and modern structures providing aesthetic richness. Campus life at NMU is another unique blend of culture and sports. On the one hand, sports activities are held regularly like recently, the Annual Rally Aerobics Competitions were organized. On the other hand, the Technological and Cultural Arts Festival was celebrated with great pomp and show.
