About College
T D Medical College Alleppey is a Government medical institution. It is officially known as Government T D Medical College (GTDMCA) Alappuzha or commonly as Vandanam Medical College.
It was established as a private medical institution in 1963 under the Thirumala Devaswom (T.D.) Trust. It was later taken over by the Kerala state government in 1967 and recognised as a Government college in 1972. It is the 4th Government medical college in Kerala.
It is the only medical college in Kerala in which the academic blocks and medical hospital directly overlook the national highway (NH-66). It is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and is approved by the National Medical Commission.
It offers 150 MBBS seats annually as well as postgraduate (MD/MS), Super speciality, Nursing and Paramedic medical programs.
Spread across 138+ acres, the campus has an attached teaching hospital, academic blocks, trauma centre, super speciality units, separate maternal-child blocks, residential accommodation for students and support services.
