The Deben Mahata Government Medical College and Hospital is located in Purulia, West Bengal. The College was previously known as Purulia Government Medical College and Hospital and was established in the year 2020. This institution was set up with the primary objective of enhancing health care services in tribal/rural areas.

The College of Medicine is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata, and is also recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The medical college offers 100 MBBS seats on an annual basis. It is also rapidly establishing itself as a provider of quality medical education and health services.

The college has an operational teaching hospital attached to the college where students get good experience in the clinics as well as during their academic study. Admission Process 2026, Purulia Government Medical College & Hospital

The process of admission for students at Purulia Government Medical College and Hospital for the year 2026 will be as follows

  1. The only basis for admission will be through the NEET UG 2026 Exam.

Infrastructure

Purulia Government Medical College campus features a wide range of modern amenities to assist students with their academic and clinical training. The lecture halls are roomy and equipped with AV teaching tools.
