Established in 1958, NXMU offers English taught MBBS program that has duration of 6 years in which, a yearlong internship is included. However, from its inception till 2008, it remained Ningxia medical college. It became a medical university in 2008. This does not affect the institution’s standing in any way.
NXMU boasts of 16 secondary institutions (or schools), 5 hospitals, 12 teaching hospitals, and 60 bases for field practice. The university runs UG & PG programs. Around 8,000 students are pursuing their academic goals here that include 1000 PG students. Since 1958, the institution has given over 20,000 able doctors to China and the world.
