Located on A.J.C. Bose Road in the Sealdah area of Kolkata, Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital (NRSMC&H) is one of the oldest and most reputed government medical institutions in India. It began as Sealdah Medical School in 1873 and was renamed in 1950.

The college offers 250 MBBS seats annually, along with postgraduate, super-specialty, nursing and paramedical programs. It is affiliated with West Bengal University of Health Sciences and approved by the National Medical Commission.

Its attached teaching hospital has over 1,500 beds and handles more than 10 lakh patients yearly, ensuring strong clinical exposure for students. Patients from West Bengal and surrounding areas, including Bangladesh, seek medical care in the hospital.
