Katihar Medical College (KMC), established in 1987 as part of the Al-Karim Educational Trust, is one of Bihar's top private medical schools, with a Muslim Minority status.

KMC has 150 MBBS seats available each year and is affiliated with a state university (Al-Karim University) and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Admission Process 2026, Katihar Medical College

The admission process is managed centrally. The admission process has a fixed timeline set out by the college.

  1. NEET Qualification: Candidates must qualify in the NEET-UG 2026 exam scheduled for May 3, 2026.
  2. Counselling Registration: Candidates will need to register and enroll for UG Medical Admission Counselling, through the UGMAC website.
  3. Selection Process: During the web option entry process, candidates will need to choose KMC Katihar as their preferred college choice.
  4. Multiple rounds of Counselling: Admissions will be conducted through 3 rounds of Counselling, rounds 1 and 2, a mop-up round, and a stray vacancy round.
  5. Verification and Payment of Fee: candidates who have received an offer, must report to the specified centre to have their documents verified and to pay their application fee in order to confirm their place.

All steps must be completed during the specific time period specified by the University. Failure to report and/or pay within this time will result in immediate cancellation of your place.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for MBBS Admission at Katihar Medical College for 2026:

  • Must have qualified in NEET UG (2026) by meeting the minimum required percentile respective to their category.
  • Must have reached the age of 17 by December 31, 2026.
  • Must have completed the (10+2) board examination with 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (for general category). Candidates with the reserved category will be required to secure 40% in those subjects.
