Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital (JIMSH) is a renowned private medical college situated in Budge Budge in the city of Kolkata in West Bengal. It was established in 2016 and works under Urmila Devi Jagannath Gupta Charitable Trust.

Admission Process 2026, JIMSH Kolkata

MBBS Admission is based only on merit -NEET-UG 2026.

Steps:

  1. Qualify the NEET-UG 2026 exam (May 2026).
  2. Register on West Bengal counselling website - WBMCC.
  3. Fill in choices, including JIMSH, Kolkata as preferred college.
  4. Seat allotment is only based on rank, category, preferences and availability.
  5. Pay part admission fee (Rs.50,000 to Rs.1 lakh).
  6. Report personally to the college for document verification and final admission.

Counselling has multiple rounds (Round 1, Round 2, mop-up, stray vacancy) and candidates can upgrade their seats in the later rounds.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum age has to be 17 years as on 31st December 2026.
  • Academic requirement: Passed Class 12 (10+2) or its equivalent from a recognized education board with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology (PCB) and English, and secure minimum aggregate marks: 50% for general category and 40% for reserved categories.
  • Must qualify NEET-UG 2026 with the required percentile/valid score i.e. General: 50th percentile and Reserved: 40th percentile.

The private seats do not specifically require a domicile, however candidates of West Bengal will be preferred for state quota seats.
