The ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is located in Haldia, West Bengal. The ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research is a private institution of higher learning established in 2011 by the Indian Centre for Advancement of Research and Education. The institute is accredited by the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and the National Medical Commission of India (NMC).

In addition to MBBS degrees, the ICARE Institute offers both MD and MS postgraduate degrees, all of which are taught within Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy's 500-bed teaching hospital. This affiliation between the hospital and IIMSAR provides students with ample opportunity and exposure to the clinical side of medicine, preparing them for careers in both India and abroad. While IIMSAR has modern facilities, it also teaches students how to practice medicine in a way that emphasizes hands-on, practical learning. Currently, IIMSAR offers 150 MBBS slots.

The MBBS fee structure for students at IIMSAR varies based on the student's quota of entry. The following are the approximate costs for the different entry quotas:

Admission Process 2026

The process for admission to the college will be based on the scores of the NEET UG exam. The overall process generally includes the following steps:

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for an MBBS in 2026, we will need to be able to verify that applicants meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:

Specific Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must be 17 years old on or before December 31, 2026.
  2. Have achieved the required NEET UG percentile on the NEET UG exam.
  3. Academic qualification must meet the following minimum criteria:
    • General Category candidates: 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English
    • Reservations candidates: at least 40% aggregate in Physics and Chemistry and Biology and English
  4. The following minimum NEET Percentiles are as follows:
    • General Candidates will be required to have a minimum of 50% percentile in the NEET UG Examination.
    • Reserved Candidates will be required to have a minimum of 40% percentile in the NEET UG Examination.
  5. Must have completed their 10 + 2 (12th Grade) from an established board.
  6. Medically fit to study.
