Located in Cooch Behar, Maharaja Jitendra Narayan Medical College and Hospital (previously called Cooch Behar Government Medical College and Hospital) is a government medical college. It opened its doors to students for MBBS admission in the 2019-2020 academic year after receiving approval from the Medical Council of India, after upgrading MJN Hospital to provide MBBS courses, during 2017-18.

Maharaja Jitendra Narayan Medical College and Hospital is affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Sciences & has received recognition from the National Medical Commission. This college accepts 100 students into the MBBS program each year and will provide quality medical education in a developing region. This college has well-defined training programs, a high level of clinical training exposure, and facilities that are growing as numbers of students wishing to pursue affordable government funded medical education increases.

Admission Process 2026, Coochbehar Government Medical College & Hospital

  2. Complete the 10+2 curriculum with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as primary subjects.
  3. Achieve at a minimum level of qualifications in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology as follows:
    • 50% (General or EWS)
    • 40% (SC/ST/OBC)
    • 45% (Disabled individuals)
  4. Achieve a qualifying score in the NEET UG in accordance with required percentage levels.
  5. Meet all state domicile requirements for the purpose of State Quota admission (Domicile requirements are not applicable to all India Quota).
