About College

B. J. Government Medical College (popularly abbreviated as BJGMC, Pune) is a premier government medical college located in Pune, Maharashtra. The college was established in 1946, and since then it has produced a great number of successful doctors and public health workers.

The college is majorly funded and controlled by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Government of Maharashtra, and it is famous mainly for its great academics, excellent clinical exposure and extensive research work.

The academic programs of the institution are merged with those of the Sassoon General Hospitals, which is the main teaching hospital. This multispeciality hospital exposes the medical students to a wide range of clinical, multidisciplinary, patient-centered experiences covering a variety of specialties and patient demographics.

BJGMC is affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and all its medical courses are recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

MBBS Program at  B.J. Government Medical College

  2. Duration: 5.5 years (4.5 years academics + 1 year compulsory internship).
