About University

Xiamen University will be exactly a century old this year but its medical wing, Xiamen University Medical College, is a comparatively new addition. The endeavor got its approval in 1996. However, the medical students obviously reap the benefits of the University policies that are time tested. It is the first center of learning Medicine in the entire Fujian province. Over the 2 decades of its existence, the Xiamen University Medical College has churned out doctors that have impressed the medical fraternity with their depth of knowledge, skillful clinical modus operandi, remarkable soft skills, improvisation and capacity to deal with inter-disciplinary challenges. The Medical College now has more than 60 research & teaching Institutes. It has 8 affiliated hospitals and 20 teaching hospitals because of which it is now recognized as an important medical hub of the region.

About Campus life
The happening campus of Xiamen University is a great place to be. The University makes it special for its international students academically or otherwise. Overseas students have the option of enjoying co-curricular activities conducted by the student unions and societies in the university. Then there is a series of athletic and arts events being organized from time to time. During festivals, the entire campus becomes extra-colorful and jovial. Being an international students’ hub, every festival of the home countries of the students is celebrated at a grand scale.

Hostel and facilities
Accommodation is available inside the University in form of hostels. Students can accommodate the hostel rooms on a sharing basis. These rooms bear the resemblance of a typical Chinese hostel room as they come equipped with beds, mattresses, study tables, attached washroom, cabinets, ACs, etc. But unlike many dormitory or hostel room in China where you do not get a balcony, you indeed get one in this hostel room! There is a balcony in every hostel room which can be accessed through a sliding door. There’s also a shoe rack given outside each room. 

               A sport center is available in the University so you can enjoy your favorite sports activity. You may shoot baskets at the basketball courts, or you can hone your smashing skills on the badminton court, or you can win a score the winning goal on the football field, or you might just want to run a few miles on the running track. Whatever you’re interested in, the sports center has just got you covered. As for your appetite, Indian food is easily available at the mess located in your University.
