As a part of the major Medical Education ‘revamp’ going on in India, another news is making its circulation in the social network. What seems like an excerpt from an official document, this text says that, “Wrt implementation of NEXT, Chairperson NMC apprised that broad modalities of the NEXT exam have been worked out. The exam will be held in two steps. The exam will be held in 2023.”
Without going into the debate whether this is even authentic or not, the conduction of NEXT will affect all the MBBS students who wish to practice in India. Also, it definitely changes the set up for those students who, after class XII, wish to do MBBS in abroad as now qualifying NEET will be compulsory for them. NEXT replaces the FMGE and even the aspirants doing MBBS in India need to appear in NEXT to get their Internships, PG admissions and license to practice.
