About University

RISEBA University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1992. It is a private higher education institution with 30 years of experience. The university aims to give indifferent schooling and prepares top-grade specialists and executives in enterprise and innovative industries, capable enough to work in an international surrounding. The most important building of the university is situated in Riga. People have the opportunity to gain vocational training at the Vocational Secondary School Victoria.

At RISEBA University, there are over 2600 students currently enrolled in different programs whereas 250 of them are International Students. The university has an abundant number of National and International faculty resources, which holds an expert degree in teaching. However, the University gained the title of RISEBA by the Applied Sciences Honorary Professor for Exceptional contribution to education, research, and science.

RISEBA has been accredited through the Ministry of Education and science of the Republic of Latvia and has also obtained the International Quality Accreditation (CEEMAN) of the International Association for the development of control. The faculties offered in RISEBA are the Faculty of Architecture and Design, the Faculty of Media and Creative Technologies, and the Faculty of Business and Economics.

Speaking of the climate, in Latvia, the summer season is mild due to coastal areas. Summer starts in June and ends in August and the temperature goes from around 18 °C to 21 °C.During the summer season, there is slight rainfall, mainly in local areas, whereas in the afternoon thunderstorms may also occur.

Program Offered in RISEBA

RISEBA offers Bachelor's degree programs: Architecture; Audiovisual Media Art; Public Relations and Advertising management; Business Psychology; European Business Studies; Business Management; Start-up acceleration and finance in Latvian only. Also, the university offers the following Master's degree programs: Architecture; Strategic Business Management; Public Relations Management; New Media and Audiovisual Arts; Big Data Analytics; Human Resource Management; Project Management, Sports Management, etc. Moreover, Doctoral Programmes offered are Business Management, Media Art, and Creative Technologies. Some of these study programs can also be studied through distance learning.

RISEBA presents competitive education in Bachelor's, Master and Doctoral study programs. Furthermore, it renders the studies program in the English Language. In addition, the University actively participates in various scientific research programs and projects, in cooperation with Latvian and foreign partners. Besides this, the university works on expanding its network of cooperation partners each year. Moreover, the University presents endless options to choose from the offered study programs and to get a degree with a qualification. After graduation, the students can continue their studies and choose one of the RISEBA master's study programs.

If you are planning to do higher studies at RISEBA University, the first thing you need to know is the cost of living in Riga. The living cost of Riga is considered less expensive as compared to other cities in Latvia. The cost of living in Riga is approx. 500-600 EUR per month which includes your daily expenses. Of course, your accommodation, food, and lifestyle will determine the amount you expend.

Moreover, your expenses in Riga would be around 200-250 EUR for accommodation, and 150-200 EUR for your daily food and drink.

Hostel & Accommodation

Planning to study in RISEBA University? Looking for a modern-but-homey place to stay? RISEBA students get full accommodation, the rooms are provided in single and double sizes with fully furnished rooms. All hostels have kitchens, laundry services, and Wi-Fi, hostels also house a mini gym. The cost of staying at the hostel starts at 300 Euro per month with single and double rooms.

Scholarship

Students can obtain the Scholarship under the Erasmus study program. Under this program, the students get the opportunity to study at European universities. Students of RISEBA get monthly scholarships which depend on the program. The Scholarship is offered based on the academic performance of the student in the previous Semester

Studying abroad at RISEBA offer the Erasmus+ exchange program (RISEBA cooperates with more than 130 universities in 35 countries). The modern study environment-premises and equipment (the study process in creative programs takes place in the Baltics at the largest media Study Center – RISEBA architecture and media center. Additionally, the Career Growth Center organizes different courses at the university, which offers the opportunity to gain additional knowledge.

As an international student moving abroad to study nowadays became a trend. Thinking about how to fulfill your essential requirements? While studying you can get a chance to work part-time and earn a good amount for a living. Students also can save their tuition fees by doing part-time jobs. In Latvia, country foreign students are allowed to work part-time without requiring any Latvia work permit on a student visa. As per the rule of Latvia, international students can work 20 hours a week as a part-time job during semesters and 40 hours per week during breaks semester. The amount paid in Latvia is a minimum of 430 Euros monthly.

After studying at RISEBA University Latvia, as an International student, you are eligible to apply for a temporary residence permit. After graduating, students are allowed to stay in Latvia or any of the Schengen countries for 12-15 months, which enables them to look for jobs or get self-employed. Furthermore, the students must obtain the Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) as soon as they arrive in Latvia.
