Meghalaya NEET-UG 2021 Counseling Process:

The Directorate of Health Services, Meghalaya is responsible for conducting State counseling for allocation of 85% of MBBS Seats in Govt and Private Medical College under State Quota. However, MCC is the governing body for filling rest 15 % seats through All India Quota seats in Govt Medical College and 100% Seats in Deemed University. Important Dates:

Only candidates whose names are featured in the NEET 2021 Meghalaya merit list can attend the counseling procedure and look forward to the 50 total MBBS seats in Meghalaya. The date of NEIGRIHMS MBBS counseling will be declared post the release of the NEIGRIHMS MBBS merit list 2021. Those who have been shortlisted for the counseling procedure will be expected to be present at the NEIGRIHMS seat allotment venue on the prescribed time and date.

The eligibility criteria for Meghalaya MBBS admission to NEIGRIHMS is illustrated below –
The candidate applying for admission to NEIGRIHMS must…

  • Be a bona fide resident of any of the Indian Northeastern states including Sikkim,
  • Have completed the last couple of years of schooling from India,
  • Have attained minimum 17 years of age by 31st December of the year he/she is applying for admission,
  • Have passed 12th standard with subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and, in case of General category students, score minimum 50% marks in the aforementioned subjects and minimum 40% for SC/ST/OBC students.
  • Must have qualified the NEET UG exam as well as cleared the Meghalaya medical college cut off.


Candidates are to begin their Meghalaya MBBS admission process from the official Meghalaya MBBS admission portal of NEIGRIHMS @ neigrihms.gov.in. At the website, they must visit the ‘New Registration’ link. After Meghalaya MBBS admission registration, they will be asked to fill in their personal details.

Afterwards, the candidates will be required to upload the photograph and signature of themselves. The instructions pertinent to photograph and signature will be made available via the prospectus published/to be published on the official website.

Now, it is time for the candidate to fill his/her academic details as requested by the Meghalaya MBBS admission process. Once done with filling the academic details, the candidates must pay a specific amount that goes towards counseling fee. The candidates must note the counseling fee is non refundable. After going through all these prerequisite steps, the candidates have successfully applied for Meghalaya MBBS admission.

NEET-UG Exam dates 2022

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET (UG) 2021 examination on Sunday, 12th September 2021 in pen & paper mode. NEET-2021 Exam was delayed due to the second wave of COVID-19. CBSE announced the 12th Board exams for 2022 in April and May It is expected NTA may conduct NEET-UG 2022 Exams in the month of July’22. If it happens then the NEET result will be declared in the month of Aug. In such a scenario, NEET UG Counseling 2022 will take place in the month of Sept. The examination will serve as a uniform entrance examination for MBBS admission and other streams like BDS/ BAMS/ BSMS/ BUMS/ BHMS and other undergraduate medical courses.
