Recently, MCI has mandated that one has to qualify NEET to become eligible to take admission in any university for doing MBBS Abroad.

Whether you wish to do your MBBS from Russia, China or Ukraine, you will have to qualify NEET.

Qualifying NEET will mean scoring 160 for GEN and 107 for all reserved categories.

If we talk about a qualification in medicine from the US or an MBBS from Germany, here also it is better if you have qualified NEET.

NEET (The National Entrance Cum Eligibility Test) is an entrance examination conducted in India through which students who desire to pursue graduation or post graduation and get admission in medical colleges in India (in both government as well as private colleges).

This entrance exam is a 3 hour paper which is divided into 3 parts- Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The maximum mark obtained is 720 which break into 360 for biology and 180 each for physics and chemistry. There are 270 questions, with biology section carrying 180 questions and physics and chemistry section having 45 questions each. Correct answer will award the attendee with 4 marks. While incorrect answer will lead to a deduction of 1 negative marking.

Here are some tips to crack NEET

Firstly, as a student you have to find information and do research to get a clear idea of what you are preparing for. The first step is to do research on the NEET exam, cut off, details regarding the test, previous year results, question papers of previous year and the syllabus of NEET.

Secondly, a timetable to discipline and schedule study hours would help you to cover topics effectively and efficiently, also utilize the time when possible. This is especially for the students who are attempting the NEET examination during their 12th standard. As they have school work, board assignments, board examinations looming ahead of them aside from NEET. Therefore, a timetable will help you make the best of time.

Thirdly, students are puzzled that from ‘where to begin?’. The best to start is with the basics. A candidate should have the knowledge of the basic concepts of physics, chemistry and biology. Start from the topics which are easy for you. And then moving to the tough topics in order to gain the knowledge.

Fourthly, you can do revision for mock tests. The internet is a student’s friends where you will find several sites, also the official website for NEET MBBS provide online mock tests. This will help you to practice under a time bound situation, creating the examination at home.

Fifthly, be calm and believe in yourself. The only way to succeed is to stay calm and collected and believe that you can do it.

Keep in mind only qualifying NEET will not give you a seat for doing MBBS in India. But, you definitely become eligible for getting a seat for doing MBBS Abroad
