Yangzhou University (YZU) is of profound significance in the entire Jiangsu province as a center of Medicine and learning. The strength of YZU’s foundation may be assessed from the fact that it was one of the first among the Chinese universities to be authorized to grant master and doctoral degrees. While the origin of YZU is traceable to 1902, its present ‘avatar’ came into existence fairly recently, in 1992. YZU has as many as 8 campuses, each boasts of excellent infrastructure with every amenity required for a great experience. Everything is well-organized and the extent to which this is true may be fathomed by knowing about the ‘Yi Ka Tong’ card system. The ‘Yi Ka Tong’ card is an all purpose card that is valid in all the 8 campuses of YZU. It is valid as an identification, library card, shopper’s card for the on-campus stores, canteen pass as well as on-campus restaurant pass. There are numerous on-campus and off-campus stores for all the shopping you may need to do. Each campus has at least one cafeteria that serves international menu. Life at YZU is good!

The dormitory of Yangzhou University fulfills every possible requirement of students: from comfortable accommodation to utilities like laundry, kitchen, etc. The rooms of the dormitory can be availed on a sharing basis. You may share it with one person or with a group of persons. Either case, the room will come furnished with essential articles as per the room occupancy. These articles include beds, study tables, mattresses and pillows. While there is a study table accompanied by spacious wardrobe and cabinets, above it would be your bunk bed which you can reach via a small ladder of few steps. Just as you enter to your room via the corridor, you’ll find this setting of study table and bunk bed flanking each of the sides of room and the space in between lets you walk straight towards another door in front that leads you to the washroom area. Here, the bathroom and washroom flank one side of this space while wash basin are present on the other side. Each floor of the hostel building is equipped with facilities of kitchen and laundry. The kitchen is outfitted with induction stove and refrigerators so you can cook efficiently. For drinkable water facilities, you’re charged as less as 9 Yuan for a water can of 20 liters. Hostel is quite advanced in terms of security. Students must adhere to the hostel timings prescribed by the administration. Moreover, no outsider is allowed entry inside the hostel premises since entry is enabled only through electronic card which are provided to students so living in the hostel.
