The Sumy State Medical University came into existence more than 70 years ago in 1948. After decades of academic experience and achieving excellence in the academic field, the university currently has 15,000 students from 50 different countries. These students are pursuing bachelors/masters/foundation programs in 22 different disciplines taught at the University. Sumy State University is undoubtedly one of the best choices a student can make if he/she is looking forward to pursue MBBS in Ukraine. The University also has an IV level of accreditation which is the highest any university can achieve in Ukraine.
Sumy is a city in northeastern Ukraine and capital city in Sumy Oblast (Oblast means province). The city has a population of over 264,000 people. Sumy’s climate can be characterized as humid continental. The winters are snowy here and the summers are hot. The annual precipitation recorded is 513 millimeters and the months experiencing most of the rainfall are June and July.

About Campus life
The campus life at Sumy State Medical University is filled with activities: cultural, academic, sports, etc; students’ societies and clubs, sightseeing, etc. Students are encourages to take part in students’ clubs and societies based on their preferences. A student has various options at his/her disposal: Dance groups, reading groups, literature workshops, theatre groups, volunteering opportunities, etc.
The University also has a sports club with facilities of numerous sports: Aerobics, Swimming, Basketball, Badminton, etc. Other facilities that a student enjoys in the campus of Sumy State University are the library, healthcare services, physical education service, etc.

Hostel and facilities
Situated at a convenient location, the hostels of Sumy State Medical University are all well-furnished. The hostel no. 1 is located right next to the university building whereas the hostel no. 2 and hostel no. 3 are built near the picturesque banks of Lake Cheka. Coming to the hostel no. 4 and hostel no. 5, they are situated next to the medical institute of Sumy i.e. near the forest and the river respectively. In addition to this, there’s a hostel-hotel which is a 9-storey building for students and guests of the city. Featuring double, triple and deluxe rooms with all comfort, it has a large conference room, a café bar and a restaurant.
Not only this, but the students are also provided with hostels of organizations and institutions where you can live as per the agreements concluded by the university. In fact, international students also use the session period to reside in the dormitories of SSU for the purpose of distance learning.
