Being a doctor is one of the most revered professions in the world. In the year 5th BCE Hippocratic Oath was written in Ancient Greek. The new Physicians had to swear by this oath that they would practice medicine ethically. The old oath was “A doctor of medicine must hold the values of justice and integrity”. This was written 2500 years ago and similarly now modern version is used in Universities like “A rite of passage for upcoming doctors”. This is a new oath which now some universities students take.

During the period of Renaissance, with the development of groundbreaking discovery of the microscope and neurology, the field of medicine rocketed to a high value to teach and assist aspiring doctors. Moreover now students who wish to study medicine have an experienced faculty to become a great doctor.

Doctors in Modern Time:

Being in the 19th and 20th century’s modern methods and technologies are developed to sustain life. Firstly, the discoveries of blood group check up and x-rays have propelled the field of medicine to new heights. In addition today’s world, doctors have become a vital part of society and their role has expanded beyond that of a patient’s health.

Health care centers and Hospitals have become a huge contributing factor to the economy of a country. However the majority of the people trust the word of a doctor that plays an important role in educating the general public.

In 21st century, ‘The Age of the Internet’, there is an excess of information on health readily available to everyone’s fingertips. Above all this becomes a big responsibility of a doctor to provide reliable and authentic information and fight against fake internet diagnoses.
