About College

SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, (SDMCMSH) is a famed private medical college in the Sattur region of Dharwad, in the state of Karnataka. It was established in 2003 by Shri D.Veerendra Heggade, President of SDM Educational Society as a centre for medical education and healthcare services for the people of North Karnataka. It is managed by the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) Trust.

The campus expands across 70 acres of greenery and has marvellous architecture away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It has two attached multi-specialty hospitals and tertiary care centres, that have a capacity of 1250 beds and OPD visits of about 1500 patients every day.

The college is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, (RGUHS)Bengaluru and is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

SDMC combines strong academic training with hands-on clinical exposure. The college offers 150 MBBS seats per year and focuses on ethics, research and holistic medical education.

Fee Structure 2026, SDMCMSH

For the 2026 MBBS batch:

  • Approx. First-year MBBS tuition fee: Rs.17.5 lakhs (includes tuition, admission, lab, library and caution deposit components).
  • Approx. Second-year to final year MBBS Tuition Fees : Rs.18 lakhs to Rs.19 lakhs per year
  • Hostel fees: Approx. Rs.1.8 lakhs to Rs.2 lakhs per year (including accommodation, mess, utilities and basic amenities.)
  • One-time refundable security deposit: Rs.2 lakhs.
  • Examination fee: Around Rs.10,000 per year.
  • Miscellaneous expenses: Rs.20,000 approx.

Admission Process 2026, SDMCMSH Sattur

Admission strictly based on merit and qualification in NEET-UG 2026

  1. Qualify NEET-UG 2026 conducted by NTA with valid score.
  2. Register for NEET-UG 2026 counselling through Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) website and complete the process of verification of documents.
  3. Take part in (i) choice filling select SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Sattur, Dharwad, as preferences and (ii) mock allotment rounds.
  4. The final seat allotment is based on NEET-UG 2026 rank, category and quota distribution.
  5. Payment of the prescribed fees is to be done within the given deadline.
  6. Report personally to the college with all original documents for verification, biometrics and orientation.

Eligibility Criteria

For MBBS eligibility,candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Be of minimum age i,.e. 17 years on or before 31 December 2026.
  • Qualify NEET-UG 2026 (mandatory) with valid scores.
  • Pass 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as core subjects and English and score the minimum aggregate in PCB - 50% for General category, 40% for SC/ST/OBC and 45% for General-PwD, from a recognised education board.
  • Candidates can be Indian nationals, OCI and PIO.
  • Candidates from foreign boards have to obtain equivalency certification from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
