About College
Government Medical College, Alwar, was founded as part of Phase-III development of medical education in India and is a premier state-owned institution in Rajasthan. The college is associated with Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) to provide 100 MBBS students per annum.
The college is also integrated with Rajkiya District Hospital, Alwar, which serves as the College's main teaching hospital. The integration of both facilities provides a strong clinical environment that supports an extensive variety of patient influx, providing the necessary experience required to achieve excellence within the medical profession in the region.

Admission Process 2026, GMC Alwar
Government Medical College in Alwar has a strict centralised state counselling system that offers merit-based admission.
The following are the details of the admission process:
- Candidates must qualify and get the minimum qualifying percentile in the NEET-UG exam.
- To register for admission counselling, candidates should go to the official website of the Rajasthan NEET UG Medical & Dental Admission Board and create an online account.
- As part of the web option process, you must register GMC Alwar as your first choice during the preference selection step.
- There will be three rounds of counselling; Round 1, Round 2 and a Mop up Round during which all seats will be filled.
- Admission verification will occur at the designated reporting centre by presenting your original documents for verification to ensure eligibility. Along with the verification of eligibility, you will be required to pay your tuition fees.
- If you do not report to the reporting centre for verification and/or payment of tuition fees within the time indicated, your allocated seat will automatically be cancelled.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to study MBBS:
- You must have qualified in NEET-UG 2026 with a minimum qualifying percentile.
- You will also need to have completed a minimum of seventeen years of age by 31 December 2026.
- You must have passed the 10 + 2 standard with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (40% of marks for reserved category candidates).
- Candidates who are residents of Rajasthan will have priority for the state quota (85% of seats) in the counselling process.
