Soochow University Medical College (SUMC) has 9k local students and more than 500 international ones. Apart from the 5k UGs, there are more than 2.5k PG students enrolled here as we speak. Hospitals directly affiliated to SUMC are 4 in number but that’s not all. There are 18 field stations of SUMC that are off-campus. The faculty members are distinguished at many levels and they make studying at SUMC all the more special. About Campus life
The campus at SUMC can only be described as unique, more so, in the case of the infrastructure. The numerous buildings in the campus are mostly interestingly structured and this adds much to the aesthetic values of experiencing campus life here. SUMC is an asset to the health sector in the Peoples’ Republic of China that gives ample opportunity to the budding doctors to interact with numerous individuals that does a lot for the soft skills that a doctor must possess. There are many Indian students on the campus and all the major festivals of India and other countries are celebrated with great enthusiasm.

The University accommodation comprises of hostels. You get everything from beds, mattresses, pillows to Air conditioners, heaters and study tables. There are laundry facilities and cooking facilities available right inside the hostel building. Moreover, there are canteens in the University where you can have your meal if you’re not interested in self-cooking. There’s a Chinese canteen where of course you get Chinese food and other fast foods. There is also a Muslim canteen where halal food is provided and there’s a Korean canteen also. Only the vegetarians would have to compromise on the meals since there are not too many vegetarian dishes available on the menu. Anyway, this is why you are furnished with a kitchen a few footsteps away from your hostel room so you can cook your own food. You can even buy the commodities essential for cooking and other grocery items inside the campus since there are facilities for them as well.
